The chiefs of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer; 109 who seeks to drive you out from your land. What would you have us do?' 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 "To bring all the wise magicians to you." 112 And the sorcerers came unto Pharaoh [and] said: "Verily, we ought to have a great reward if it is we who prevail." 113 'Yes' he answered, 'and you will be among those near' 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 He said: Cast. So when they cast, they deceived the people's eyes and frightened them, and they produced a mighty enchantment. 116 And We revealed to Musa, saying: Cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told. 117 ۞ Thus the truth prevailed, and that which they had brought vanished. 118 Thus were they there defeated and brought low. 119 But the sorcerers fell down prostrate in adoration. 120 Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron' 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 Will you punish us just because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance and cause us to die as those who have submitted [to You].' 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
