In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book. 1 We have revealed it in the Arabic language so that you (people) would understand it. 2 We recount to you the best of narratives in revealing this Quran to you, even though you were unaware of it before it came. 3 When Yusuf said to his father: O my father! surely I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon-- I saw them making obeisance to me. 4 he replied, "My son, do not relate your dream to your brothers, lest they plot evil against you -- Satan is the sworn enemy of man. 5 Your Lord will choose you and teach you to interpret events, and confer His favours on you and the house of Jacob, as He had done in the case of two ancestors of yours, Abraham and Isaac, before you. Indeed your Lord is all-knowing and all-wise." 6
