The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 unto a mighty day 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
