(vii) Do not kill your children for fear of want. We will provide for them and for you. Surely killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not draw near to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil. 32 Do not kill the soul whom Allah has forbidden except by right. If he is slain unjustly, We have given his heir authority. But let him not exceed the limit in slaying, for he will be helped. 33 And approach not the substance of an orphan save with that which is best, until he attaineth his age of strength. And fulfil the covenant; verily the covenant shall be asked about. 34 (xii) Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with even scales. That is fair and better in consequence. 35 (xiii) Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge. Surely the hearing, the sight, the heart - each of these shall be called to account. 36 And do not go about in the land exultingly, for you cannot cut through the earth nor reach the mountains in height. 37 All this-- the evil of it-- is hateful in the sight of your Lord. 38 That is of the wisdom thy Lord set not up with God another god, or thou wilt be cast into Gehenna, reproached and rejected. 39 HAS, THEN, your Sustainer distinguished you by [giving you] sons, and taken unto Himself daughters in the guise of angels? Verily, you are uttering a dreadful saying! 40
