The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
