O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
