Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
