Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
