To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 And it will profit you not today, because ye have done wrong, that ye are in the torment sharers. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
