Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
