▼ 52 The Mountain

Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
