Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in an exalted garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
