Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
