The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 stay away from sins 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 And sons present by his side. 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
