Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
