The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
