The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
