Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
