Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
