The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A book inscribed, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
