Daybreak (Al-Falaq)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Elephant (Al-Feel) before People (Al-Naas)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

(Muhammad), say, "I seek protection from the Lord of the Dawn 1 From the evil of that which He hath created, 2 "And from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes with its darkness; (or the moon as it sets or goes away). 3 And from the evil of malignant witchcraft, 4 And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
