Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
