He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 and fruits and fodder 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
