The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And the Book written 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 and the uplifted roof 5 and the sea swarming, 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 none can avert that. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
