۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 What, do we then not die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
