The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
