The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 who guard their privates, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
