The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
