Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
