The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
