Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
