Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
