The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
