The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
