And if We give man a taste of Mercy from Us, and then withdraw it from him, verily! He is despairing, ungrateful. 9 And if, after adversity, We let him taste good fortune he says, "All my ills are gone." He becomes exultant and boastful. 10 Except those who are patient and do good, they shall have forgiveness and a great reward. 11 Perchance thou art leaving part of what is revealed to thee, and thy breast is straitened by it, because they say, 'Why has a treasure not been sent down upon him, or an angel not come with him?' Thou art only a warner; and God is a Guardian over everything. 12 If they say, "He has invented it himself." Say, "If you are truthful, produce ten invented chapters like it, and call on whom you can besides God, to help you." 13 And if they answer not your prayer, then know that it is revealed only in the knowledge of Allah; and that there is no Allah save Him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender? 14 Whoever desires the life of this world and its comforts, We shall give them the full reward for their deeds in it, and not make any reduction in it. 15 These are they for whom there is nothing but fire in the hereafter, and what they wrought in it shall go for nothing, and vain is what they do. 16 Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe! 17 Who are more unjust than those who ascribe falsehood to God? When such people are brought into the presence of their Lord, the witness will say, "These are the ones who told lies about their Lord. Certainly God will condemn the unjust 18 who bar from God's way, desiring to make it crooked; they disbelieve in the world to come; 19 They shall not weaken (the power of) God on earth, nor find any other protector but God. Their punishment will be doubled, for they could neither hear nor see. 20 Those are they that have lost their souls, and that they forged has gone astray from them; 21 they without doubt will be the greatest losers in the world to come. 22 Those who have believed and done good deeds and humbled themselves before their Lord are destined for Paradise, and they will live in it forever. 23 ۞ The example of the two groups is like one being blind and deaf, and the other seeing and hearing; are they equal in condition? So do you not ponder? 24
