The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 to their promise, 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
