The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
