And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
