A (goodly) number from those of old, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then you went astray, you that belied, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 And will fill your bellies therewith; 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Have you ever considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 We could make it brackish, if We pleased; so why do you not acknowledge thanks? 70 Behold! the fire which ye strike out: 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Therefore proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of four Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-fourth chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
