And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
