Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And cups put in place 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
