And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
