Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This has been happening all along. 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 140
