(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) 141 When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 142 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 143 "So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 145 Will you be left secure in this, 146 "In gardens and springs. 147 And corn-fields and palm-trees whereof the spathes are fine? 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 So fear Allah, and obey me. 150 And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." 152 They said: You are only of the deluded ones; 153 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. 155 so do her no harm, or the punishment of an awful day will befall you." 156 But they hamstrung her; and on the morrow were repentant, 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
