The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. 4 Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” 8 Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. 9 “And put down your staff”; so when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned moving away without looking back; We said, “O Moosa, do not fear; indeed the Noble Messengers do not fear in My presence.” 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! 14
