۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
