And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 And We vouchsafed unto Da'ud Sulaiman. How excellent a bondman! verily he was oft-returning. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain. 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And, indeed We did try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasadan (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) but he did return (to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah and he did return) to Allah with obedience and in repentance. 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 We therefore gave the wind under his control, moving steadily by his command wherever he wished. 36 And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, 37 And many others bound in bond. 38 [And We told him:] "This is Our gift, for thee to bestow freely on others, or to withhold, without [having to render] account!" 39 He has a high position with Us and an excellent abode. 40
