Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
