۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
