۞ God has made the sea subservient to you so that ships sail on by His command and you seek His favors. Perhaps you will be grateful. 12 And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply. 13 Tell the believers to ignore those who do not expect the days of Allah, in order that Allah may give a nation the reward of what they used to earn. 14 He who does good does so for himself; and he who does evil suffers the consequence thereof. You have then to go back to your Lord. 15 We gave Scriptures, wisdom and prophethood to the Children of Israel, and provided them with good things and favoured them over all other people. 16 We gave them clear arguments in matters [of religion]. It was only after knowledge came to them that they differed among themselves out of mutual rivalry. On the Day of Resurrection your Lord will judge between them regarding their differences. 17 And thereafter We have placed thee upon the law of the religion; so follow it thou, and follow not the vain desires of those who know not. 18 They will be of no use to thee in the sight of Allah: it is only Wrong-doers (that stand as) protectors, one to another: but Allah is the Protector of the Righteous. 19 This is an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and mercy for the people of faith. 20 Do those who seek evil think that We shall make them equal in life and death to those who believe and do good? How bad is the judgement that they make! 21
